Individual Task 4

Q1: Give a brief description on who the Dalai Lama is?(include resources to support)

The Dalai Lama is what the Buddist faith calls the reincarnated Buddha, which is situated on the edge of the Himalayan Mountains. The Dalai Lama was given the remote parts of Northern India for his village.(video on pmonline)

Q2: Evaluate how the actions of the Dalai Lama in regard to the riots in Tibet would be regarded as exemplory moral integrity?

The Dalai Lama’s actions in regard to the riots in Tibet would be regarded as exemplory moral integrity because he made a decision that if the riots in Tibet got out of control he would quit altogether. This is a major decision to make, but the Dalai Lama thinks it is a good onw if it will stop the riots. His will to give up a position in society that most monks and believers would never have.

Individual Task 3

Q1: Define the term ‘moral Intergrity’

The term moral integrity is a decision that you have to make which you believe to be right or wrong. This also tests your stages in moral development, seeing how morally mature you are.

Q2: Describe why Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplory moral integrity.

Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplory moral integrity because a man from the same cell as him escaped, causing all the men in that cell to die, a man had a wife and 2 kids, and was strving to death. So Maximillian Kolbe took his place. Maximillian Kolbe did what Jesus did, he died for the salvation of thousands.

Q3: Outline Maximillians ethical actions/principals that he demonstrated in Auschwitz.

The ethical actions/principals that Maximillian demonstrated in Auschwitz was to care for others in need, and that he believed that the torturing that was occurring in Auschwitz would end, and it did.

Q4: Evaluate whether you think he made the right decision and provide research to support your answer . i. e.  Catholic teachings.

I think it was the right decision because all the torturing that made Auschwitz infamous has stopped, and the equality of mankind is restored.’Jesus Christ freely offered himself to the Father as a sacrifice for the redemption of all mankind.’(http://www.ewtn.com/faith/teachings/rdmpsum.htm) This is an example from the teachings of the Catholic church why Maximillian Kolbe will be remembered as a man who died for the redemption of mankind, like Jesus did.
